Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear

But you do not need your fear in the realm of creative expression. The previous quote is found from the book of Big Magic: Creativity Living Beyond Fear which is the “again” New York Times Bestseller work by author Elizabeth Gilbert. This book tells someone to living their life while understanding your own courage, fear, trust and any other elements in yourself to explore your creativity and let them come in your life. It explains of how you put yourself in accepting the creativity, make it happen, be persistence, believe in yourself, and acceptance for whatever the results may come afterwards.

It is a very light reading although it contains a lot of inspirations and way of understanding what the real creativity is. It’s easy to understand and digest every words from the book since her diction are not the type of abundant high selected words of information like many other self-help books usually are. You will get along with each chapter easily as it tries to make you follow what’s the next step after the previous one. However, not all the contents of Gilbert’s words can be easily applied to all of you. It’s a good reading, but it may be challenging for some of us to follow it as many people have many other unavoidable circumstances hindering their goal to explore their creativity and achieve the dream.

While there are many things that can be learned from this book, there is one that I like so much that is about keeping on track with whatever you are doing right now but keep trying with whatever you like to do. And don’t ever burden your creativity, the things you like, with any responsibility, such as expecting it to give you a good income, because it won’t do any good to the results. It will also eliminate the excitement and liberation feeling of doing so. This is a very good point as if telling someone to fulfill your responsibility (your main job and core activity) but also feed your rights (your creativity). This won’t easily be done and indeed the author have been telling you this so as well. Yet, it can happen if you keep pushing and move on the next if you fail. I’ll recommend you to read this book as it will help you to find further the meaning of creativity and how to cope with it once you find it.
