In a Blue Moon

Ilana Tan's works are always my teenage version favorite ones. In a Blue Moon was the only I hadn't a got a chance to read. And finally here we are...

Lucas Ford, a chef and head of Ramses Restaurant -the award winner restaurant in New York, was suddenly called by his grandfather who told him that he found a perfect fiancée for him. Knowing the character of his grandfather, Lucas reluctantly came to a wedding party where his grandfather was in. The girl his grandfather meant was a granddaughter of his bestfriend. Apparently when the two grandchildren were met, they already knew each other but in a very hateful terms. Sophie Wilson, the owner of A Piece of Cake bakery, hates Lucas Ford to be exact. They were high school friends who once got close for a detention Lucas had, but the friendship was immediately broken when she heard him talking bad of her behind her back. In Lucas' defense, that was a long time ago and he was just a stupid and naïve boy who was in peer pressured. So, the half sided initiated engagement was seem to be impossible but faith tells a different story.

One sit reading. Contemporary romance. No cringe lines. New York atmosphere. Once in a Blue Moon is typical Ilana's romance novels that can brought you to the atmosphere of setting it is taking in. Seriously, I admire her writing as she can get me into the storyline right away and as if I can be present in that time and place. Although this book is a type of "destiny" romance which hardly to be found in reality, but that is the purpose! To take ourselves into fiction world and forget the harsh reality for a while.
