Wuthering Heights

The first classic book of the year. Referred by many movies I've watched, I couldn't stop thinking to read this one.

Written in 18th century, Wuthering Heights is the name of house owned by Mr. Heathcliff. The story started when Mr. Lockwood was visiting the landlord's house (Mr. Heathcliff). He sensed weird atmosphere of the house, peculiar feeling and odd behavior of the master of the house. After getting into trouble himself as well as humiliated by the people in that house, he finally walked under unfriendly weather to the rented house, Thrushcross Grange and got bedridden few days after. He was taken care by the housekeeper named Nelly. Couldn't get rid of his curiousity about the landlord's behavior and his house history, Mr. Lockwood asked Nelly to tell him the story about what was happening in that house as well the house he was living in at that time. All revealed to be dark, irritating, depressing, despairing altogether.

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely.

Would I recommend this book even to beginner? Definitely!

Despite written about two hundred years ago, Wuthering Heights is easily understood and has no complex structures of words and metaphors. It's super easy to read in regards of Emily Brontë's writing style. Talking about the characters, all has a very strong characterization and developments. It's easy to get swayed and dragged by the emotions of the characters. Nonetheless, the story is beyond amazing. I got truly depressed to read this very bleak, complicated and painful story. This is definitely a must read fiction before you die.
